Sumario:This study focuses on the reflection of electromagnetic waves through isotropic parallel plates using the interferometric method, instead of treating the system as a whole and solving it with boundary conditions. This involves considering each of the multiple reflections that occur in these types of systems to obtain a development with different terms that converge to the exact solution. Thus, we aim to examine whether the initial reflections alone are sufficient for a good approximation. Expressions for the reflection coefficients for parallel (p) and perpendicular (s) polarizations were derived. The results demonstrate that relying solely on the first reflection is not a suitable approximation, whereas considering the first two terms proves to be accurate.
