Sumario:The objective of the article is to analyze the determinants of the political culture formation in Latin American States, considering the historical and contemporary perspective of this process. For the purposes of the analysis, a definition of political culture from Gabriel Almond and Sydney Verba was adopted. It is assumed that the political culture of Latin America constitutes a particular synthesis of history, tradition, and modernity. In order to explain the research assumption formulated, the narrative structure that allows the description of the essence and the analysis of the specific features of Latin American political culture was adopted.
