Sumario:This paper aims to contribute to the problem of sustainability of the Industrialization for imports substitution process in Argentina. Due to the analysis centered on external constraints and the variation of Gross Domestic Product, the conclusions of a mayor part of the literature are partly wrong and have consequences for the analysis of current economic affairs. The discussion is presented in two ways. First, we present and analyze some of the most important approaches we aim to discuss. Second, we present some examples for the discussion, based on the strategies of transnational companies operating at the final section of the Argentinian motor vehicle industry. On this behalf, we present a set of novel indicators about the integration level of the national motor vehicle production in several countries over the world.
