Sumario:Audiometric booths are a fundamental component in conducting hearing assessment studies. They must meet strict interior background-noise requirements to ensure the validity of the evaluations performed. This work presents the methodology used to acoustically characterize —based on the interior noise levels— the audiometric booth of  the Centro de Investigación y Transferencia en Acústica (CINTRA), UE CONICET–UTN. The study involved surveying sound pressure levels on different days and at various times, and comparing the measured values with the limits specified in the IRAM 4026:1986, ISO 8253-1:2010, and ANSI S3.1-1999 (R2008) standards. The results allow assessing the suitability of CINTRA’s booth for the reliable execution of audiological examinations.
