Sumario:This article addresses the issue of the compliance or adherence in antiretroviral therapeutic in persons infected with hiv-aids. From an anthropological approach, this exploratory research, was done taking as a starting point eleven deep interviews to infectious health doctors (specialised in infectious health practitioner). They work in public hospitals of Buenos Aires City and suburbs. The article analyses specially the way that these professionals define the medical compliance or adherence problems; its relation to the medical-patient relationship and the idea of “therapeutic contract”. These professionals define the adherence (correct compliance with medical advise), the medical-patient relationship, and the "therapeutic contract" only from a medical approach. Going on from this construction and using as a framework the medical intervention in order to keep the "maintenance" of the persons infected with hiv-aids, we consider that the adherence or compliance is an ideological tool of control and discipline on the daily life of the people that change a lot of daily activities into medical problems.
