Sumario:In the 1970s, the relationship between justice and space began to be debated. Either as spatial justice or territorial justice depending on the historical and linguistic context of discussion, this paper analyzes the terminology adopted and puts into question the recent use of spatial justice as the concept to theorize the geographical dimension of injustices. From a Latin American perspective, we seek to validate its suitability, relevance and the reasons for this global preference. Through a historical and genealogical review, we explore the suitability of territorial justice and the possible complementarities with spatial justice, and how they may be eventually intertwined.. To conclude, we argue that both spatial justice and territorial justice are useful to face ethical and political challenges, each one for specific scalar, community, relational and temporal dimensions.
