We present the results of analysis survey of 525 young hopefuls to join the University of Belgrano (Argentina), about his relationship with reading, books, library use and access to information through new technologies. The survey conducted focuses on three aspects of behaviour and habits, access to information: on the history of student reading and libraries in their childhood and school years, second term on interest challenges to web resources and the use of network technologies, and finally with questions about the perceptions of the internal image of the current library. The ultimate purpose, is based on the search for meaning of practices in relation to reading, books, library use and access to information to develop questions and answers about the behaviours and attitudes that occur in the context current higher education and the cultural change that inaugurated.
