Sumario:In this paper we discuss on the economic content of the State of Union addresses in Argentina from 1983 to 2011. Those speeches are prescribed by the Constitution, s. 99, ss. 8 and for that reason they constitute the most important verbal activity juridically and institutionally of the Presidency. The thesis and conclusions that we expound here emerge from a broader research on the content analysis of the State of Union addresses from 1983 to 2011, including all the presidential terms from the restoration of democracy. That work meant an empirical-quantitative-descriptive approach, that also included qualitative analysis. The result was a big data-base including 243 graphics and 135 tables with varied of information. The conclusions and evidencies arising from the work are enough corroborated.
