| Sumario: | In contexts of ubiquitous access to knowledge, university libraries are modifying their portfolio of services and
resources in order to approach the needs of their institutions, teachers, students and researchers in the most
appropriate way. Search, advice and assistance in research tasks complement the traditional tasks of libraries
towards the guard, conservation and dissemination of knowledge. In this sense, the concept of "Resource Center
for Learning and Research" (CRAI, for its acronym in spanish) emerges, as its necessary evolution.
The present work tries to give account of the current state of the university libraries of Argentina concerning their
evolution within the concept of CRAI. For this, an analysis of a sample of university libraries belonging to national
universities of official and private management was carried out. The data to construct the information are
obtained from two sources of information: a) the “biblioteca” (library) indicator declared by the Universities
themselves, in the official External Evaluation reports of the National Commission for University Evaluation and
Accreditation (CONEAU); and b) the official website of each university. |
