Sumario:The objective of this review was to identify the main treatments available for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. A search for information was carried out in Pubmed, BVS, Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo, Ovid, Lilacs, Research Gate, and Redalyc using the different exclusion and inclusion criteria. A qualitative assessment was performed with a total of 22 articles (7 Randomized Clinical Trials, 1 Systematic Review, 2 Case Reports, 2 Meta-Analysis, 1 Retrospective Pilot Study, and 9 Literature Reviews). There are several treatments aimed at resolving obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, among the main ones are myofunctional therapy, surgical treatment, different oral appliances or devices, continuous air pressure, pharmacological treatment, hypoglossal nerve stimulation, weight loss, and medical treatment. The gold standard is the continuous positive airway pressure. However, treatments should be applied according to the type of problem (mild, moderate, or severe) and in many cases, the treatment can be combined to obtain better results.
