It analyzes the lived experiences of women deprived of their liberty in Nayarit, with emphasis on the experiences expressed in narratives of motherhood from prison. The research is based on ethnography to reflect on the reality of women deprived of their liberty in the CERESOFE “La Esperanza” in Tepic Nayarit, in a scenario in which they have transgressed legal norms, but also the moral norms of the gender roles and stereotypes of the “good mother”, all in articulation of the weight of confinement and the maternal bond. The research inputs were notes in the field diary, interviews and surveys applied from January to March 2022.
