Through a qualitative design, the cases of Merlo and Moreno are examined between 2018 and 2025, using participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and social media analysis. The results reveal two distinctive models: Merlo deploys an occasional congress format linked to a progressive political-social agenda influenced by Pope Francis's pontificate, where religious minorities obtain symbolic visibility but limited practical influence. Moreno implements a continuous assembly format that seeks territorial autonomy and greater horizontality, generating more substantive practices of interreligious coexistence, although with structural restrictions. Both cases show that municipal religious affairs offices actively construct categories of religious legitimacy, operating between diversity as symbolic recognition and pluralism as material equality, confirming unresolved tensions in local state management of religiosity. El presente trabajo analiza cómo los espacios de diálogo interreligioso impulsados por gobiernos municipales del conurbano bonaerense configuran representaciones sobre la diversidad religiosa local. A través de un diseño cualitativo, se examinan los casos de Merlo y Moreno entre 2018 y 2025, utilizando observación participante, entrevistas semiestructuradas y análisis de redes sociales. Los resultados revelan dos modelos distintivos: Merlo despliega un formato de congreso eventual, vinculado a una agenda político-social progresista influenciada por el pontificado de Francisco. Allí, las minorías religiosas obtienen visibilidad simbólica, pero limitada incidencia práctica. Moreno, por su parte, implementa un formato asambleario continuo que busca autonomía territorial y mayor horizontalidad, generando prácticas más sustantivas de convivencia interreligiosa, aunque con restricciones estructurales. Ambos casos evidencian que las oficinas municipales de culto construyen activamente categorías de legitimidad religiosa, situándose de manera diferencial entre el reconocimiento simbólico de la diversidad y el pluralismo como igualdad material efectiva.
