Sumario:Over-production of food is a current feature of the global agro-food industry that has connected multiple spatialities in order to extend its production scale under the pretext of satisfying the world's hunger. Far from achieving these objectives, in the last decade we have witnessed a continuous increase in food prices and poverty, nationally and internationally. The paradox of the situation is that while food shortages are not a problem, the growth of both malnutrition and obesity is embodied in contexts of social inequality, in times where the agro-food system has a preponderant role (but not determinant). Considering the above and within the framework of the doctoral thesis project, this article addresses the main studies related to the strategies of food consumption among households receiving the Asignación Universal por Hijo (Universal Child Allowance, AUH)
