Synthesis of 2, 6, 7-Trimethøxy-3, 4-methylenedioxyphenanthene, a degradation product of ocoteine
The synthesis of 2, 6, 7-trimethoxy-3, 4-methylenedioxyphenanthrene (3) by the application of the Pschorr reaction is reported. The product was identical with that obtained by degradation of the aporphine alkaloid ocoteine (2). © 1973, CSIRO. All rights reserved.
