Sumario: | Muscites amplexifolius sp. nov., from the Upper Carboniferous of Argentina includes brached, densely foliated, moss gametophytes with lanceolate-ovate or square leaves clasping the stem. Cellular impressions are visible and are polygonal in outline. This species is associated in the swampy deltaic sequence of the Guandacol and Tupe formations with elements of the Nothorhacopteris/Botrychiopsis/ Ginkgophyllum Flora confirming regular levels of moisture for the Paganzo Basin. |
