Sumario: | A new genus of freshwater hoplonemertean from Chile is described and named Koinoporus mapochi gen. et sp. nov. Its most characteristic taxonomic features are: rhynchodaeum and oesophagus open into a common atrium; somatic musculature present around the stomach and anterior region of the intestine; and ovoviviparity. This is the first description of an ovoviviparous limnetic nemertean. Koinoporus belongs to the family T***trastemmidae and its general morphology relates it to the genus Prostoma.
