Oosterella is typically a Mediterranean Province genus of Late Valanginian to earliest Hauterivian age. Its discovery in Argentina supports raising the Valanginian-Hauterivian stage boundary in the Neuquén Basin to the base of the Holcoptychites neuquensis Zone. |
