A chemical study of Erodium malacoides (L.) Willd

From the petroleum ether extract of the aerial part of Erodium malacoides (L.) Willd. hydrocarbons, sterols and fatty acids were isolated and characterized by chromatografic and spectroscopic methods. Sumario:From the petroleum ether extract of the aerial part of Erodium malacoides (L.) Willd. hydrocarbons, sterols and fatty acids were isolated and characterized by chromatografic and spectroscopic methods. The methanolic extract afforded a flavonoid (kaempferol-3,7-diglucoside) and a diol C16H34O2 characterized as 1,7-dihydroxyhexadecane that has not been reported previously in the literature.
