Model for dissolution of irradiated metal oxides: Reactivity and structure

The influence of the opposite effects (generation and annealing of crystal defects) on the dissolution of reactor irradiated metal oxides was studied. Kinetic parameters were calculated, using a model proposed for the dissolution process, and the relation between the structure of the irradiated oxid...

Sumario:The influence of the opposite effects (generation and annealing of crystal defects) on the dissolution of reactor irradiated metal oxides was studied. Kinetic parameters were calculated, using a model proposed for the dissolution process, and the relation between the structure of the irradiated oxides and their behavior upon dissolution was discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. The influence of the opposite effects on the dissolution of reactor irradiated metal oxides was studied. The kinetic parameters were calculated, using a model proposed for the dissolution process, and the relation between the structure of the irradiated oxides and their behavior upon dissolution was discussed. The results obtained for the oxidative dissolution of Cr2O3 and for the reductive dissolution of MnO2 were reported.
