Sumario:Angular distributions of continuum radiation emitted during proton"<>aluminum-atom collisions are investigated. Atomic bremsstrahlung (AB) including retardation effects is calculated and compared with available experimental data. Angular distributions are found to be asymmetric with the maximum shifted towards angles smaller than 90°. A good agreement with the experiments is found where AB is dominant over the secondary-electron bremsstrahlung, i.e., for photon energies larger than Tm=2v2, where v is the ion velocity. © 1988 The American Physical Society.
