Sumario: | We derive alternative formulas for the lateral dispersion coefficient (σy), the dimensionless cross-wind integrated concentration (Cy*) and the centreline ground-level concentration (Cc) following the empirical method applied by, for example, Briggs (1985), Weil et al (1986) and Hanna and Paine (1987). These dimensionless scaling relations are developed using data from Kincaid and Bull Run power plants (Hanna and Paine, 1987). We obtain different expressions for different ranges of the dimensionless buoyancy flux parameter (F*). The obtained formulas are tested with data from Dickerson (Venkatram, 1980), Morgantown (Venkatram, 1980) and INCO (Venkatram and Vet, 1981). -from Authors |
