Propagator theory is formulated in terms of memory superoperators. Spectral representations for projected Zwanzig-Feshbach type field operators and memory superoperators are obtained. It is shown that the information contained in such a formulation is the same as that obtained by traditional methods. The importance of the present formalism is that we may deal not only with equilibrium processes but also with non-equilibrium situations.
