Sumario:This article presents the lists of members of the first two associations aimed at defending –explicitly and as a main objective– the Argentinean “middle class”: the “Movimiento de la Clase Media” and “Promoción Social de la Clase Media”, both created in 1956. The meaning of their emergence at that time, their ideological features, their activities and the social profile of their members are discussed.
