Guidelines were established to deal with collections, evaluating storage conditions mediated by the location, architectural features, environmental and design an appropriate plan of conservation and preservation. In the implementation of the project, financial, administrative and human resources, made possible the application of methods and techniques concerning the preservation of documentary heritage. The purpose of a conservation plan is to ensure accessibility to various types of documents produced in the socio - cultural context of late colonial and colonial. These collections contain valuable personal testimony and teaching. Con el objetivo de preservar los documentos que forman parte del Patrimonio Cultural, el Museo Jesuítico Nacional de Jesús María, en concordancia con su misión, implementó a partir del año 2005, Políticas de Preservación y Conservación, que aseguran la supervivencia de los documentos para el futuro. Se establecieron lineamientos para tratar las colecciones, evaluando condiciones de conservación propiciadas por la ubicación, características arquitectónicas, medio ambiental y diseño de un plan adecuado de conservación y Preservación. En la ejecución del proyecto se contó con recursos financieros, administrativos y humanos, que posibilitaron la aplicación de métodos y técnicas concernientes a la preservación del acervo documental. La finalidad de un plan de conservación, es asegurar la accesibilidad a diversos tipos documentales producidos en el contexto socio – cultural de la época colonial y tardo colonial.
