Sumario:In this paper, we propose to develop a possible reading of the dispute between republicanism and populism, including Hannah  Arendt´s political thought. By contrast with some interpretations which are interested in stablishing Arendt´s proximity or distance with one position or the other, we want to interrogate what is that her political thought can tell us about their problematic relationship. We understand that Arendt allow us to identify some dimensions of that dispute that turn out to be central to face the crisis of contemporary democracies.
