It recovers productions made in the last twenty years that, from different disciplinary fields of social sciences, feminist economics and gender studies, allow us to approach the current state of the discussions. In a context of pandemic/post-pandemic, it is essential to recover the social and political discussions produced around the issue, a context where questions about the sustainability of life and care have become central to the public agenda, and where the discourses and appeals to the rights of children and young people are incorporated by different actors and by the State at its different jurisdictional levels. Questions about care refer to social, community and family relations, interwoven in the heat of a series of disputes over the imposition of particular meanings and interests. Characterizing the relationships between the state, families, communities and markets and their various interventions is relevant in the search for a critical analysis of a familiarized and feminized social and political organization of care that accentuates the reproduction of inequalities. El presente artículo reconstruye características relevantes del campo de estudios sobre cuidados de niñas/os y jóvenes producidos en Argentina y dialoga con aportes de la región latinoamericana. Recupera producciones realizadas en los últimos veinte años que, desde diferentes campos disciplinares de las ciencias sociales, la economía feminista y los estudios de género, permiten aproximarnos al estado actual de las discusiones. En un contexto de pandemia/pospandemia resulta imprescindible recuperar las discusiones sociales y políticas producidas en torno a la temática, contexto donde las preguntas por la sostenibilidad de la vida y los cuidados cobran centralidad en la agenda pública, y donde los discursos y apelaciones a los derechos de las niñeces y juventudes son incorporados por diferentes actores y por el Estado en sus diferentes niveles jurisdiccionales. Las preguntas sobre los cuidados remiten a relaciones sociales, comunitarias y familiares, entretejidas al calor de una serie de disputas por la imposición de sentidos e intereses particulares. Caracterizar las relaciones entre el Estado, las familias, las comunidades y los mercados y sus diversas intervenciones resulta relevante en la búsqueda del análisis crítico de una organización social y política del cuidado, familiarizada y feminizada, que acentúa la reproducción de desigualdades.
