Most analyzes have been from a Western perspective, which limits understanding of the complexity of this relationship. The methodology used is based on a documentary and bibliographic review of specialized studies and sources to understand the political, economic and cultural dimensions of Sino-African relations. A review of the African and Chinese theoretical perspectives is presented, the main economic data on exports and imports of China’s main African partners during the 2021/2022 period are surveyed, as well as the main milestones of the relationship during the same period, and it analyzes what this implies in a context of global competition between Beijing and Washington. Finally, the implications and future perspectives of the China-Africa relationship are discussed from an African and Chinese perspective. This work contributes to the debate on the relationship between China and Africa from a critical perspective that starts from the African and Chinese theoretical perspectives to broaden and enrich knowledge about a relationship that is of great importance in the contemporary international scenario.
