Santa Fe 1943-1944 Walpen, Juan Bautista Alice Constitucion conmemoración museo patrimonio Alice Constitution conmemoration museum patrimony A hundred and seventy years after the swearing in of the Argentine Constitution, sanctioned in Santa Fe on the first of May 1853, this present work suggests a micro historical approach of a case study: the Art Exhibition called “The Constitution Art Room” carried out in 1943 on account of the XX° Annual National Art Show of the Rosa Galisteo de Rodriguez Museum. This article considers analysing the relationship between this event and the political context of Santa Fe in the period 1930-1940; for which this work examines all the commemorative events as well specially focussing on the importance of the acquisition of Alice's paintings. His artworks allow us to realize how the past helps to define property policies through the choice of different elements, objects and artworks that transform places like museums and institutions of cultural production and social and political legitimation. En el año que se cumple los 170 años de la jura de la Constitución argentina, sancionada en Santa Fe el 1 de mayo de 1853, el presente trabajo se plantea un enfoque microhistórico en donde se apela a un estudio de caso: la muestra “La sala de la Constitución” realizada en 1943, en el marco del XXº Salón Anual Nacional del Museo Rosa Galisteo de Rodríguez. El artículo busca analizar la relación entre el hecho que se conmemora y el contexto político de la Santa Fe de las décadas del 1930 y 1940, para lo cual se detiene en los actos conmemorativos y en la muestra mencionada que significó la adquisición de las obras de Alice por parte del Museo. Esta muestra habilita a indagar respecto a cómo el pasado ayuda a definir políticas patrimoniales mediante la elección de elementos —objetos y obras de arte— que convierten a espacios como los museos, en instituciones de producción cultural y de legitimación social y política.
