En este trabajo, se realiza un estudio de la evolución del conocimiento sobre la nutrición vegetal teniendo en cuenta su importancia biológica y la dificultad que encierra su comprensión para los estudiantes de enseñanza obligatoria para ello se presenta una propuesta de selección y secuenciación de contenidos tomando como referentes la perspectiva histórica y las ideas de los alumnos.
