Similarly, in Secondary Education, fostering argumentative skills is crucial, as students will encounter debates where substantiating their opinions with evidence is necessary. To this end, an educational proposal has been designed, implemented, and evaluated, aimed at equipping a group of post-obligatory secondary students (16-17 years old) to enhance their argumentation abilities concerning a bioethical dilemma related to basic genetics, specifically Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis. The favourable outcomes observed in argumentative essay composition provide support for further in-depth exploration of this theme. La formación educativa en genética y bioética reviste alta importancia debido a sus repercusiones en la vida cotidiana y los avances en salud, lo que justifica su inclusión en los planes educativos. De igual forma, en la Educación Secundaria es esencial formar en la capacidad argumentativa, ya que el alumnado se enfrentará a debates donde es necesario sustentar sus opiniones con evidencias. Para este fin, se ha diseñado, implementado y evaluado una propuesta educativa dirigida a un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria postobligatoria con la finalidad de mejorar su habilidad de argumentación sobre un dilema bioético relacionado con la genética básica, el diagnóstico genético preimplantacional. Los ensayos argumentativos realizados por el alumnado muestran la utilidad de la metodología empleada y apoyan seguir profundizando en esta perspectiva.
