The proposal intends to contribute to deepen the knowledge of the disciplinary field of Social Work about the implications and challenges of intervention in the face of these realities. The first section offers information about transvestite-trans lives based on reports from related organizations, also providing testimonies from their own research and incorporating the notions of transvesticide and transfemicide into the analysis. Secondly, it reflects on the professional commitment in the face of social inequalities revealed in the analyzed populations, recovering contributions and current debates specific to Social Work and also incorporating some testimonies. In the third section, the issue of social assistance and professional interventions with transvestite-trans populations is addressed, incorporating for the analysis the perspective of assistance as a right and the effects of subjectivation and social integration it entails. In closing, two central principles are reinforced to think about the challenges of professional intervention with transvestite-trans populations, within the framework of a rights-based approach. El escrito presenta reflexiones a partir de experiencias de intervención profesional de trabajadorxs sociales con poblaciones travestis-trans. La propuesta intenta contribuir a que desde el campo disciplinar del Trabajo Social se profundice el conocimiento acerca de las implicancias y desafíos de la intervención ante estas realidades. En el primer apartado se ofrece información acerca de las vidas travestis-trans en base a reportes de organizaciones afines, aportando además, testimonios de investigaciones propias e incorporando al análisis las nociones de travesticidio y transfemicidio. En segundo término, se reflexiona acerca del compromiso profesional frente a las desigualdades sociales puestas de manifiesto en las poblaciones analizadas, recuperando aportes y debates actuales específicos del Trabajo Social e incorporando también algunos testimonios. En el tercer apartado, se aborda la cuestión de la asistencia social y las intervenciones profesionales con poblaciones travestis-trans, incorporando para el análisis la perspectiva de la asistencia como derecho y los efectos de subjetivación e integración social que conlleva. Al cierre, se refuerzan dos principios centrales para pensar los desafíos de la intervención profesional con poblaciones travestis-trans, en el marco de un enfoque de Derechos.
