Sumario:This abstract seeks to share a vision about the process of the Covid -19 outbreak in the Social Service of a public hospital in the Province of Córdoba, an institution which came across scissions, outbursts, transformations and reconstructions on the way. It aims at thinking about the institutional transformation or the restructuring of the hospital dynamics resulted from as a the health and social care emergency and from that point, to account for the reconfiguration process done by the Social Work to participate in the pandemic and its emerging factors, understanding it, not only as a biological expression but also as a social, political, economic, cultural and symbolic one. It specially intends to share the particular configurations and reconfigurations of the professional performance in this framework and analyzes some of the main issues expanded during the pandemic in daily professional work: the useless omnipotence of the “health care heroes” and the impotence over death, the losses and collectivemourning. Finally, the question to recover certain potentialities as pillars to build this post pandemic stage moving towards possible goals, consolidating the collectivism of resources and better professional strategies is present in this work.
