Asa result, it was found that the process allowed the teacher to perceive and to question the formative model that was guiding his physicsteaching practice. On the other hand, it was evident how SSI mobilized the students in the discussion of scientific knowledge, besidesmobilizing a moral sensibility about the lithium battery production process and the several minerals that compose it. Pesquisa realizada em uma escola técnica pública, Estado de São Paulo (Brasil), avaliou como uma questão sociocientífica, acerca dociclo de vida das baterias de lítio, planejada e desenvolvida pelo professor da disciplina de Física, proporcionou uma formação críticaaos envolvidos ( professor e alunos). Como resultado, constatou-se que o processo permitiu que o professor percebesse e questionasseo modelo formativo que orientava sua prática de ensino de física. Por outro lado, ficou evidente como a QSC mobilizou os alunos nadiscussão dos conhecimentos científicos, além da mobilização de uma sensibilidade moral acerca ao processo de produção de bateriasde lítio e seus diversos minérios que a compõe.
