Methodology: It is a qualitative study, with exploratory-descriptive character. It takes into account the interdisciplinary nature of bibliotherapy and the knowledge premises of STSStudies. Results: It shows the convenience of studying bibliotherapy since the STS principles, such as the confluences of Library and Information Science in this field, with regard to its theoretic evolution and professional practice. Conclusions: The STS studies benefit the whole society since a new perspective about scientific research. Bibliotherapy shows full consonancewith this approach, taking into account its interdisciplinary character. Moreover, it links Humanities and Medical Sciences, with a social purpose. Therapeutic reading has strong relationships with Library and Information Science, beginning from epistemic bases and the social object. The STS studies strengthen the role of librarians and information professionals inthis field.  Objetivo. La presente investigación se propuso analizar la incidencia de los estudios CTS en la biblioterapia y el papel en la misma de los profesionales de la información, a partir de los fundamentos de la Bibliotecología y la Ciencia de la Información. Metodología. Constituye un estudio cualitativo, con carácter exploratorio-descriptivo, que tiene en cuenta la interdisciplinariedad de la biblioterapia y las premisas cognoscitivas del enfoque social en Ciencia y Tecnología. Resultados: Se puso de manifiesto la pertinencia de abordar el estudio de la biblioterapia desde los postulados CTS; así como las convergencias disciplinares de la Bibliotecología y la Ciencia de la Información en este ámbito, en cuanto a su evolución teóricay al ejercicio de sus profesionales. Conclusiones: Los estudios CTS permiten encauzar la investigación científica para beneficio de la sociedad en su conjunto. La biblioterapia se encuentra en plena consonancia con este enfoque, pues constituye un campo interdisciplinar, que conecta las esferas de las Humanidades y las Ciencias Médicas, con un fin social. En el ámbito de la lectura terapéutica confluyen la Bibliotecología y la CI, así como los profesionales que las tipifican, a partir de los respectivos pilares epistemológicos y objetos sociales; aspecto que potencia la perspectiva CTS.
