Esta comunicación tiene como finalidad  aportar algunos elementos que contribuyan a fundamentar nuestra hipótesis, en el sentido de que al momento de la conquista hispánica, los actuales valles Calchaquí y Yocavil o Santa María constituyeron una unidad tanto desde el punto de vista geográfico como cultural y por ello pueden ser identificados en conjunto como valles Calchaquíes.  Centro de Estudios Históricos.
