The objectives and contents of the course, whose main topic is Food and Nutrition Education (Educación Alimentaria Nutricional, EAN), are an essential tool for future health professionals. ESEF outreach proposal plays a crucial role in achieving curricular objectives, thus integrating educational practice into the social context. Drawing on students' voices, this article seeks to share their perspective about the experience, with a special focus on their perceived strengths and weaknesses during the outreach work. These perceptions make it possible to deepen their learning, facilitating the acquisition of abilities, skills, attitudes and values that are fundamental to building their role as health educators and to the development of a healthy school environment in the community where they work. El presente trabajo relata la experiencia de una Práctica de Extensión de Educación Experiencial (PEEE) desarrollada por estudiantes y docentes de la asignatura Educación para la Salud y Economía Familiar (ESEF) de Licenciatura en Nutrición (LN) de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL); junto a la comunidad educativa de una escuela secundaria con orientación artística de la ciudad de Santa Fe, Argentina. Los objetivos y contenidos de la asignatura constituyen una herramienta indispensable para el accionar del futuro profesional de la salud, en la cual se aborda la Educación Alimentaria Nutricional (EAN) como eje central. La función extensionista en ESEF se torna fundamental para el cumplimiento de los objetivos curriculares, integrando la tarea educativa en un contexto social. En este artículo se busca compartir la experiencia desde la mirada de los y las estudiantes, recuperando sus voces con especial foco en las fortalezas y debilidades percibidas por ellos/as mismos/as durante la práctica de extensión. Esto posibilita profundizar su aprendizaje, lo que favorece la adquisición de habilidades, destrezas, actitudes y valores, fundamentales en la construcción de su rol de educadores de la salud y en el desarrollo de un entorno escolar saludable en la comunidad con la que se trabaja.
