For the filling, the conventional and the cotton pellet technics praised by Craig an modified by authors were used in orden to find out which of them produces the bcst cavitary adaptation. The elements filled were kept in Sél,lt solution at 379C and subjected to termic changes of heat and cold in order to resemble the conditions that these materials support in the mouth with the daily ingestion. The differences of adapté::tion were compared between the ac¡;,ylycs and composites with both technics. The adaptation was measured with an optical micrometer, using the lateral incidental light and reflexed in the gingival, axial and oclusal walls. The values were tabulet and subjeted to a statistical anlysis. Para estudiar la adaptación a las paredes cavitarias de acrílicos y de composites, se realizaron en 50 elementos dentarios, cavidades gingivales, talladas y obturadas de forma que no fuera necesario, una vez endurecido el material restaurador, efectuar ningún desgaste, ni pulido, a los fines de evitar con ello cualquier alteración mecánica o física de estos materiales y de la estructura dentaria. Se usaron para la obturación la técnica convencional y la técnica de la torunda de algodón preconizada por Craig y modificada por los autores, para medir cual de ellos producía una mejor adaptación cávitaria. Los elementos obturados fueron conservados en solución fisiológica a 379 C y sometidos a cambios térmicos .de frío y calor, para semejar las condiciones que estos materiales soportan en boca r.nn la ingesta diaria. Se comparó las diferencias de adaptación entre acrílicos y composites con ambas técnicas .Y de los composites entre sí. La adaptación fue medida con la óptica de un microdurómetro, usando luz incidente lateral y reflejada, en la· interfase de las paredes gingival, axial y oclusal.
