Los distintos porcentajes de cruzabilidad obtenidos entre trigos y centenos argentinos encontrados en los trabajos realizados con el objeto de obtener nuevos triticales argentinos, demuestra la necesidad de conocer el comportamiento de estos trigos a tal fin.La característica de cruzabilidad está gobernada genéticamente, según los estudios realizados por Taylor y Quisemberry, Lein y Riley y Clapman, y la misma no se conoce en nuestros trigos, sibien es de destacar que en su origen muchos de ellos poseen "sangre"del cultivar "Chino" con el cual los autores mencionados anteriormente realizaron sus investigaciones.
