The different percentages of crossability obtained between Argentine wheats and ryes found in studies carried out in order to obtain new Argentine triticales, demonstrate the need to know the behaviour of these wheats for such purpose.The characteristic of crossability is genetically controlled, according to the studies carried out by Taylor and Quisemberry (5), Lein (1) and Riley and Chapman (4), and it is not known in our wheats, although it should be emphasized that many of them have in their origin "blood" from the cultivar "Chinese", with which the above mentioned authors carried out their investigations. Los distintos porcentajes de cruzabilidad obtenidos entre trigos y centenos argentinos encontrados en los trabajos realizados con el objeto de obtener nuevos triticales argentinos, demuestra la necesidad de conocer el comportamiento de estos trigos a tal fin.La característica de cruzabilidad está gobernada genéticamente, según los estudios realizados por Taylor y Quisemberry (5), Lein (1) y Riley y Clapman (4), y la misma no se conoce en nuestros trigos, si bien es de destacar que en su origen muchos de ellos poseen "sangre" del cultivar "Chino" con el cual los autores mencionados anteriormente realizaron sus investigaciones.
