In accordance with many legal sources, the employee’s privacy is to be protected from the exercise of the employer’s authority. The present Working Paper considers the cases of telephone interceptions, control over the employee, invasive tests, and disrespect for its sexual orientation, religion, personal appearance, as well as freedoms of, conscience, ethics and thought. Lastly, the different types of illegitimate incursion on the employee’s privacy are put in relation with the available legal means of protection. El derecho a la preservación de la vida personal del trabajador en relación de dependencia involucra derechos fundamentales del hombre pero también otras garantías constitucionales. A partir de diversidad de fuentes, la esfera personal del trabajador debe ser protegida frente al ejercicio de facultades de organización empresaria. Se consideran en este trabajo los casos de las intervenciones telefónicas, los controles sobre la persona, los tests y estudios invasivos, el respeto a la orientación sexual, la fe religiosa, imagen personal y las libertades de conciencia, ética y pensamiento. Finalmente, se relacionan los medios de protección frente a las incursiones ilegítimas en la vida personal del trabajador.
