Sumario:The challenges that local governments face to ensure accessible spaces for all, have set the need for an urban design manual from a gender perspective, for the canton of Curridabat, Costa Rica.  For this purpose, a general literature review has been carried out. Then, the main problems detected in the canton are included in order to structure and define the thematic axes of the manual.  Several variables to be developed in detail in the manual were defined, such as meeting spaces, lighting, perception of safety, among others.  This manual aims to provide a tool to the actors involved in the development, design, and management of urban areas in this canton.  It can be further used throughout the country, in an effort to mitigate inequalities and create a more caring, equitable, inclusive, accessible and dynamic city.
