The medical use of rose oil and essence or their use in wines, potions, creams or ointment, go back to ancient times, especially in China, Persia, India and later in Eastern Europe. The history and facilities of the Rose Museum are described in this work. The importance of the medical and cosmetic uses of the products derived from the roses is explained. En la ciudad de Kazanlak (Bulgaria), se encuentra situado el Museo de la Rosa. Por su particular tipología, es unidisciplinario y el único en el mundo, dentro de la notable cantidad de museos, repartidos en los cinco continentes. El uso medicinal del aceite y de la esencia de rosas o bien en vino, pociones, cremas o ungüentos, se remonta a la lejana antigüedad, sobre todo en China, Persia, India y posteriormente en Europa del Este. Se recuerda la historia y se describen las instalaciones del Museo de la Rosa. Se explica la importancia del uso medicinal y cosmético de los productos derivados de las rosas. Resumo: O Museu da Rosa é localizado na cidade de Kazanlak (Bulgária). Devido ao seu tipo particular, é unidisciplinar e único no mundo, dentro da notável série de museus, espalhados pelos cinco continentes. O uso medicinal de óleo e de essência de rosas ou de vinho, poções, cremes ou unguentos, remonta à antiguidade remota, especialmente na China, Pérsia, Índia e mais tarde na Europa Oriental. Lembra-se a sua história e descrevem-se as instalações do Museu da Rosa. Exprime-se a importância do uso medicinal e cosmético dos produtos derivados das rosas. Escuela de Salud Pública y Ambiente.
