We select key theoretical-methodological readings and clivages, thinking them as analytical inputs to more satisfactorily address the complexity of the experiences lived during the first half of the 20th century in Colonia de Oliva Asylum, the first Open Door in the interior of the country. The current work is a space aimed at presenting longer-range proposals in order to define the labor therapy, the most important care modality of the Asylum, as an experience that facilitates visualizing frameworks and overlooked aspects of the trajectories and relationships between the actors of the asylum space , thought as dynamics of circulation of power. La historiografía ha desarrollado un universo de aportes que han venido problematizando el estudio de los espacios manicomiales desde una perspectiva histórica. Seleccionamos lecturas y clivajes teóricos-metodológicos clave, pensándolos como insumos de análisis para abordar más satisfactoriamente la complejidad de las experiencias vividas durante la primera mitad del siglo XX en el Asilo Colonia de Oliva, el primer Open Door del interior del país. El actual trabajo constituye un espacio dirigido a presentar planteos de más largo alcance con el fin de definir la laborterapia, modalidad asistencial más importante del Asilo, como una experiencia que facilita visibilizar entramados y aspectos soslayados de las trayectorias y relaciones entre los actores del espacio asilar, pensadas como dinámicas de circulación de poder. A historiografia desenvolveu um universo de contribuições que têm problematizado o estudo dos espaços manicomiais a partir de uma perspectiva histórica. Selecionamos leituras e clivagens teórico-metodológicas chave, pensando-os como insumos analíticos para abordar de forma mais satisfatória a complexidade das experiências vividas durante a primeira metade do século 20 em Colonia de Oliva Asilo, a primeira porta aberta no interior do país. O trabalho atual é um espaço destinado a apresentar propostas de longo alcance para definir a terapia do trabalho, a modalidade de cuidados mais importante do Asilo, como uma experiência que facilita a visualização de quadros e aspectos de tendências e relações entre os atores da espaço de asilo, pensamento como dinâmica de circulação de poder.
