Sumario:Introduction: Thinking about food and its practices must be considered beyond their biological purpose and as territories for the production and reproduction of gender inequalities. Objectives: Examine whether gender inequalities are present in relation to household tasks relating to food and their characteristics in the population that attends CeSAC No. 21 in Padre Mugica neighborhood, Retiro (City of Buenos Aires), in the first semester  of 2021. Materials and methods: Data collection and analysis were conducted using semi-structured and anonymous surveys administered by the interviewer. Results: The sample comprises 70 women over 18 years of age who live in family units where at least one adult male is present. Women are primarily responsible for household tasks related to food in family units, such as choosing family menus, buying, storing and preparing food and washing dishware. Conclusions: Household tasks relating to food are unfairly distributed between family members, with the majority of task-takers being women, demonstrating the persistence of sociocultural models and gender stereotypes.
