| Sumario: | The article analyzes the representations of youth developed by the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR) and reconstructs a series of actions and measures directed towards this sector during the first presidency of Hipólito Yrigoyen (1916-1922). Together with other documents, the article mainly uses a corpus of sources consisting of news and writings from the party political press during the period under consideration. The conclusions affirm the relevance that youth acquired in the party's discourse and organization, which, although it was part of a previous tradition, was renewed within the framework of electoral strategies and policies implemented by the UCR following the electoral reform of 1912 and access to national government. Finally, through the case studied, the conclusions raise broader questions that help to reflect on the historical configuration of youth in the first decades of the 20th century. |
