We seek to identify where they were located, what were the mechanisms to gain access to a parcel of land, what they cultivated, under what living and working conditions they carried out their work, and what were the problems that worsened by the end of the 1960s and forced the government to summon the First National Congress on Agrarian Reform.  En el artículo se analizan las características del campesinado salvadoreño en la segunda mitad del siglo XX para comprender por qué requerían una reforma agraria que les permitiera superar su precaria relación jurídica con la tierra. Buscamos identificar dónde estaban ubicados, cuáles fueron los mecanismos para acceder a una parcela, qué cultivaban, bajo qué condiciones de vida y trabajo desarrollaban sus labores y cuáles fueron las problemáticas que se agudizaron hacia fines de la década de 1960 y que obligaron al gobierno a convocar al Primer Congreso Nacional de Reforma Agraria.   Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades.
