The completion of the irrigation project “Los Altos de Córdoba” (1881-1891) and the development of the “Tren de las Sierras” railway system, built by the Ferrocarril Córdoba y Noroeste (Córdoba & Western Railway Co. Ltd.) from of 1886. These cases meant a progressive advance in land use planning, defining infrastructures as central devices for its transformation. The condition of implantation of the city and its region, the political ideology of progress and modernization led by the generation of '80 and the search to insert this territory in the national context, had a central participation in the physical development of the territory as demonstrated in continuation. |

El presente trabajo, aborda el estudio de las infraestructuras vinculadas al agua y al ferrocarril, desarrolladas en la ciudad de Córdoba y su territorio metropolitano en el período 1880-1914. Para este artículo se plantea una revisión de dos antecedentes que fueron clave en el proceso de formación de este territorio. La concreción del proyecto de irrigación “Los Altos de Córdoba” (1881-1891) y el desarrollo del sistema ferroviario del “Tren de las Sierras”, construido por el Ferrocarril Córdoba y Noroeste (Córdoba & Western Railway Co. Ltd.) a partir de 1886. Estos casos significaron un progresivo avance en el ordenamiento del territorio definiendo a las infraestructuras como dispositivos centrales para su transformación. La condición de implantación de la ciudad y su región, la ideología política de progreso y modernización liderada por la generación del `80 y la búsqueda por insertar este territorio en el contexto nacional, tuvieron central participación en el desarrollo físico del territorio como se demuestra a continuación. Este trabajo es parte del proyecto de investigación doctoral titulado “La construcción del territorio metropolitano de Córdoba”, en desarrollo en el Instituto de Investigación de la Vivienda y el Hábitat (INVIHAB), el cual se realiza con una beca doctoral del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas, (CONICET). Este trabalho faz parte do projeto de pesquisa de doutorado, "A construção do território metropolitano de Córdoba", em desenvolvimento no Instituto de Pesquisa Habitacional e Habitat (INVIHAB), no âmbito de bolsas de doutorado do Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa Científica e Técnica, (CONICET). Nesta apresentação abordamos o estudo das infraestruturas ligadas à água e ferrovias, desenvolvidas na província de Córdoba, Argentina, no final do século XIX. O objetivo do trabalho é entender o papel desses elementos na conformação e estruturação do território. Para isso, são estudados e analisados; o projeto de irrigação “Los Altos de Córdoba” (1881-1891) e o sistema ferroviário “Tren de las sierras”, construído pela Córdoba and Northwest Railway (Córdoba & Western Railway Co. Ltd.) cujo desenvolvimento começou em 1886. . Ambos os projetos significaram um avanço progressivo no ordenamento do território, considerando as infraestruturas como dispositivos centrais para a sua transformação. A condição de implantação da cidade e de sua região, o ideário político de progresso e modernização liderado pela geração de 80 e a busca de inserção da cidade no contexto nacional a partir do desenvolvimento industrial tiveram participação central no desenvolvimento da Córdoba e sua área metropolitana como demonstraremos a seguir.
