description From the exchange and consumption of drugs, popular neighborhoods experience new dynamics, which lead to a significant deterioration in the health of its inhabitants and their daily lives in multiple ways. The neighborhood habitat constitutes the environment in which this circuit of exchange and consumption of drugs takes place, and also the context of opportunity in which these dynamics are counteracted. The central interest of this work is dedicated to the study and analysis of the habitat production processes associated with the health problems inherent to the exchange and consumption of drugs in poor neighborhoods. For this, the case study is used in an intermediate city of Argentina, the Greater San Miguel de Tucumán, between the years 2015 and 2023. Through the application of qualitative research strategies, both public policies and community efforts in the field of habitat and health aimed at preventing, mitigating and counteracting the exchange and consumption of drugs are considered. For this, participation is introduced within the framework of criticism of daily life, which allows identifying the place occupied by public policies and the social production of the habitat in de-alienating processes, health promoters in popular neighborhoods.

For this, participation is introduced within the framework of criticism of daily life, which allows identifying the place occupied by public policies and the social production of the habitat in de-alienating processes, health promoters in popular neighborhoods.
