Tal es el caso del reciente seriado Big Little Lies (HBO, 2017), pero cuya exposición central retoma más bien la pérdida de confianza en el sistema político y social estadounidense, y la erosión de una ideología sostenida durante décadas. Nos orientaremos a evaluar las operaciones de significación que construye este texto artístico en sus modos de trazar límites y formas de normalización social, centrándonos en las convergencias y distancias en la construcción del sujeto femenino y el concepto de familia, elementos constituyentes del American Way of Life. En tal sentido, la categoría de traducción semiótico-cultural (Lotman) nos brinda aportes a un marco de interpretación para indagar cómo opera la transposición de sentidos entre lenguaje serial y contexto social, actualizando esta maquinaria cultural de gran importancia para los Estados Unidos. Nos proponemos entonces tomar las series como fragmentos de un orden cultural, en tanto permiten un acercamiento al modo en que el arte mainstream traduce una fractura en el orden de la cotidianeidad que figuraría como una condición no reparativa en producciones de consumo masivo. TV series recover what seems to emerge as a contemporary crisis: we refer to aesthetic journeys that problematize the limits of the American Dream. Such is the case of the recent series Big Little Lies (HBO, 2017), which central exposition shows the loss of confidence inthe American political and social system, and the erosion of an ideology sustained for decades. We propouse to evaluate the significance operations that this artistic text constructs in its ways of drawing limits and forms of social normalization, focusing on the convergences and distances in the construction of the female subject and the concept of family, constituent elements of the American Way of Life. In this sense, the category of semiotic-cultural translation (Lotman) provides a framework of interpretation to investigate how the transposition of meanings between serial language and social context operates, updating this cultural machinery of great importance for the United States. We propose then to take the series as fragments of a cultural order, approaching to the way in which mainstream art translates a fracture in the order of everyday life that would appear as a non-reparative condition in mass consumption productions.
