This article as a result of the process of exploring successful experiences of integrating ICTs in education, specifically with mobile learning, as a strategy to face educational challenges as desertion, literacy, coverage and costs, overall in the context of rurality and vulnerable and marginalized populations. The use of mobile learning passed in a way to close the digital gap in the school field, to a way to mitigate some social inequalities, that is, contribute to closing the social and pedagogical gap, especially in developing countries. Such situation faces great challenges, summed up in the construction and adoption of bold and flexible public policies. La integración de la telefonía móvil en los distintos ámbitos sociales y la forma en la que se ha incorporado en la cotidianidad de las personas han promovido un intenso escenario de nuevas perspectivas para afrontar sus impactos en los procesos educativos. Este artículo se construye a partir del proceso de exploración de experiencias exitosas de integración de las TIC en educación, específicamente con aprendizaje móvil en tanto estrategia para hacer frente a desafíos educativos, como la deserción, la alfabetización, la cobertura y los costos, sobre todo en contextos de ruralidad y de poblaciones vulnerables y marginadas. La utilización del aprendizaje móvil pasó de ser una forma de cerrar la brecha digital en el campo escolar a una manera de atenuar algunas desigualdades sociales, es decir, a contribuir al cierre de la brecha social y pedagógica, especialmente en países en vía de desarrollo. Tal situación enfrenta grandes desafíos, resumidos en la construcción y adopción de políticas públicas audaces y flexibles.
