Sumario:The Architecture Archives of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) seeks to preserve architectural memory and train future researchers through the study of its documentary collections. An Archival Research Workshop was convened for 2025 summer to be developed as an experimental program with an intensive schedule. Its objective was dual: to introduce students to the archives and narrow the scope of their thematic selection to meet the expected learning outcomes. The documentary collection chosen was that of the architect Héctor Velarde. Unexpectedly, the analysis of his portrait, which was featured on the course's promotional poster, became an induction object used as an example throughout the course and contributed to clarifying the methodological proposal. The analyzed material, the method, the results and the final reflections are presented. The approach seeks to illustrate, from an interpretive reflection perspective, the usefulness of the archives as an exploration space for new authors, whether students or even professors interested in teaching similar courses in the future.
